Day 15(Speaking up for what you believe or what you feel right is not a waste of time)
Today I spoke in class for quite some time after a long time. Meekha ma'am continued the exercise of sharing the experiences of a favourite and not-so-favourite teacher. I had the opportunity to discuss my Navodaya school experience. For the first time in my life, I spoke openly about the trauma created by some teachers' actions. Even though I have achieved several qualities in my life from Navodaya, I am still affected by their certain remarks and actions. I'm still in touch with some of my Navodaya teachers and share my proudest moments with them. Aside from that, I learned the value of teamwork. A year in Madhya Pradesh allowed me to learn about another culture and lifestyle. I recall how we managed to live without electricity or water 24×7. We used to collect the water beforehand because it would only be available for a limited time. My navodaya life is a unique experience for me, and it is the best part of my life.
I also mentioned the Institute of English, where I received my PG in English Language and Literature and learned the importance of unlearning some conditioned notions. Each of the institute's teachers taught me something distinct that I had not learned in other places. Our voices were always heard by the professors, and we were not condemned based on the length of our clothes or regarding anything. I learned at the institute that speaking up for what you think or what you feel is right is not a waste of time. Even if some of our concepts are erroneous or inaccurate, only by having a dialogue we can comprehend the intricacies and complexities of our argument. This day reinforced my belief that every life experience contributes to the beneficial development of our character.
