Day 19

 

Another day of learning and love has passed. Maya Ma'am had us hooked within the first hour and had almost finished the first unit. All of the thoughts and experiences she shares with us cause us to think and ponder a little more each day, and her remarks today provided us with even more fodder for thinking and meditation. She explained, "Teaching is a form of art. As a result, a teacher is an artist. It is also ascience to teach so the teacher is a scientist too ". She gave the remaining portions to M Ed. students from the Government Training College, Thycaud. Benedict Sir introduced them to us, and he greeted them with the same love and tenderness that any theophilite would extend to guests. Giby Ma'am was the one who later engaged us and never failed to astound us. Ancy Ma'am showed up for the afternoon session and kept us entertained for about an hour.

As the verses unfolded, one could almost hear the chug-chug of the train, feel the rush of the wind against one's face, and visualize the rapidly changing landscapes. As the sun set on my last day at St. Mary's HSS, I couldn't help but feel a cocktail of emotions - excitement for the future, nostalgia for the days gone by, and a deep gratitude for all that I've learned and the people I've met.
